Agenda
I. DD Coordinator's Report Sandra Butts
a. State Center Transformation Activity
b. 1-2 Bed AFH Sponsor Meeting- 90 people showed up (interested
potential
sponsors).
1. Interested parties- not a lot of hx in disability
provision.
2. County will provide series of training sessions.
c. Fee for Service Meeting to be held today.
II. General Issues
a. Provider application- it was suggested that HIPAA be
address in a training.
There
have been questions regarding the HIPAA section of the application.
III. Brief Reports
Treasurer's Report
a. $503.54- Checking account
b. $2500- Money Market Account, will mature in Jan 2008
c. MADDSA dues collected today will be added to balance.
Training Initiative
a. Rough draft of training schedule is being done for 2008.
b. Feb 2008- Seizure Recognition/First Aid
c. Kate Wilson is new Chair of committee
SE WI Training-
a. Nov. 28th, 2007- Aging & Disability
b. Finalizing calendar for 2008. Ideas were asked of group:
1. Ideas- Marketing as a Family Care provider
2. HIPAA Training
Transition Committee-
a. MCTAB Focus on the Future- Not as well attended (20
participants
attended).
Parents did ask a lot of questions. Looking at another training in
2008.
b.
LEAP- LEAP had a transition Fair on 11/6/07. 150 people attended (less
attended
than 2006). Place was not accessible, could be a reason for the
reduction
in attendance.
c.
Transition sub-committee meeting will be held on 12/11/07 at 1pm (usually
runs
from 2-2:30pm). All are welcome to attend. Request for more parents on
committee.
Transit Committee
a. Committee has not heard any feedback on transportation.
Comments can be
faxed
to Lori at 414-541-4730. Information is needed so they can move
forward.
b.
Paratransit complaint forms- should they be faxed or complaints called in?
People
have received different information on how to address complaints
with
Transit Plus.
c.
Proposed changes in bus lines- changes still might occur. This would
impact
clients, especially clients on the south side.
d. Tickets- contact your county case manager if you have
questions regarding
if
clients are on tickets, how many, etc.
Health
Disparities
a. Health Log still in the works
b. Steering Committee meets next week
People Can't Wait
a. No December meeting
b. PCW meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (same as MCTAB)
IV. Membership
a. 50 people registered for the caregiver training to be held on
Nov. 28th, 2007
(room
for 150 people). Sandra asked if transit drivers were invited to training. It
would be
a good idea for transit employees to come.
b. Update- Speakers. Tom asked for ideas- Guardianships, CIP
Specialists to
attend
to update on State Centers, Kenosha & Racine County Family Care
Experiences,
Disaster Planning.
V. Other Business
a. Reports on Long Term Care Reform Listening Sessions- for
consumers
1. Session held at MCFI in October was very packed
b. LTC Consumer Input Meeting- Dec '07/Jan '08 more provider
sessions for
LTC Redesign will be
held. Residential meeting will be held after MADDSA
Dec meeting.
c. Transition to Family Care- Waukesha County is starting July 2008,
Washington County currently is starting
d. Family Care-
Milwaukee: looks like Resource Center will be starting in Jan
2009. State is open to having one ADRC (for both Aging & Disability) with two
phone numbers. RC has
to open before CMOs start.
e. County Budget breakfast to be held on 11/19/07. Sponsored by Make It Work
Milwaukee! Coalition,
Behavioral Health Providers Group, Milwaukee Mental
Health Task Force,
People Can't Wait- Milwaukee Coalition, & HealthWatch.
Breakfast's purpose is
to thank Milwaukee County Supervisors for recent budget
which restored funding
for paratransit & transit services, disability services, 2-1-1
& IMPACT's help line.
f. Hearing for ADA set for 11/15/07 @ 2pm (Hearing- Restoring Congressional
Intent and Protections
under the Americans with Disabilities Act).
g. Disaster Planning-
Initiative with City Municipalities as well as Milwaukee
County. There is a
need to under the scope of the DD clientele so that effective
disaster planning is
made.
